Immediate Correction of Cross Bite

The 54-year-old woman returns for ortho-dontic treatment 1.5 months post extra-ction of UR2 (Fig.1,2).  Brackets, bands and 14 niti wire are placed in the upper arch, whereas insufficient spaces are created for placement of the lower arch molar bands.  Since there is no horizontal space issue, the cross bite canine is able to be corrected immediately when the vertical clearance is obtained (Fig.3,4).  In fact composite is added to the 1st molars in a few days, since that in one of the 2nd molars dislodges.  UR3 cross bite is nearly corrected < 2 months post banding (Fig.5), while brackets are placed in the lower arch (Fig.6 (coronavirus)). It appears that the lower arch will be too large when it is expanded for the upper one.
