An abutment is placed immediately (Fig.10 (palato-occlusal view) A (6x3 mm)) to support an immediate provisional.  The abutment is slightly buccal.  The remaining palatal socket is larger than the buccal one.  Both of the sockets will be covered by an immediate provisional.  The main purpose is to contain bone graft in place.
