Clinically the tooth #8 is fairly stable with loss of the coronal portion of the buccal plate (Fig.2 CBCT coronal section).  The tooth will be not extracted initially.

With severe loss of the buccal and palatal bone, the tooth #9 (Fig.3) is buccally shifted (arrow) under occlusal trauma.  It appears that a 3 mm 1-piece implant is indicated.  If SM dummy implant with half way insertion shows an unfavorable trajectory, use an angled one (Tatum).  If the bone is so thin that a 2.5 mm 1-piece implant has to be used, try to place it in a reasonably favorable position.  There is no angled one with 2.5 mm in diameter.
