A 6.5 mm tap deviates to the distal socket (Fig.9), while pushing the septum into the mesial socket (<). The short universal tap is difficult to manipulate. One tap (6.5 mm) for 4 implants (6.5x6,8,10 and 12). These four implants have different degrees of tapering. Therefore, four taps should be fabricated corresponding to each implant.
After repeated trial, a 6.5x12 mm implant is placed with insertion torque between 50 and 60 Ncm (Fig.10). It is a little deeper than planned (Fig.5). A long cuff cemented abutment (6.8x4(4) mm) is placed for an immediate provisional.
Plan for next case: e.g., 6.5x12 mm. First pilot drill, followed by reamers until almost the apical diameter (5 mm vs. 6.5-.6=5.9 mm) and save the bone. Second UF drill 6x12 mm. Third UF taps 6 and 6.5 (if necessary), followed by the designated implant (6.5x12 mm).
