Small Implant Palatal Placement

A 56-year-old man presents to clinic for recementation of the crown/post at #8, which is non-salvageable (Fig.1).  There are 3 existing implant crowns, including #10.  The implant at #10 (4.5 mm in diameter) was placed buccally, although there is no infection (Fig.2).  To prevent this complication, a smaller implant should be placed palatal (Fig.3).  In addition, the tooth #7 is missing.  Instead there is a labial concavity (Fig.3 *).  Use a temporary abutment for provisional.
