Vertical Height

A 62-year-old man has palatal abscess with deep pockets (Fig.1 A) at tooth #2 with DO caries (Fig.2 C).  The patient agrees with extraction and bone graft.  Preop CT shows the palatal (P) wall defect and buccal (B) socket perforation (Fig.3 *).  It should be easy to do sinus lift with the thick sinus membrane (M).  To maximize hard tissue regeneration, GEM21S is used to hydrate ground cortical chips (particle size: 125μm – 850μm)) and cortical/cancellous allograft (.5-1 mm) for socket preservation (Fig.4 G) and sinus lift in the buccal socket (^).  Due to swollen soft tissue and overpacking, the bone height increases (Fig.5 arrow).  The socket opening is closed with GEM Cap and Perio Glue as well as perio dressing.
