In fact a 6x20 mm tissue-level cylindrical (not tapered) implant is placed with insertion torque <15 Ncm (Fig.8). The palatal margin of the implant has to be trimmed to get ~ 1 mm clearance from the lower canine when the partial is not worn. Overbite increases when the partial is on. The bone is soft due to her age and being a vegetarian. When the implant is being placed, the labial and palatal plates feel thin and vibrating.
