Soft Tissue Landmark for Osteotomy Depth

A 70-year-old woman fractures the crown at #14 (Fig.1).  A 5x11 mm implant will be placed at the septum (Fig.2).  Osteotomy depth can be determined using bony (Fig.3 with stopper) or gingival (Fig.4,5 with vision) landmark.  The CT was taken 5 years earlier.  Sagittal (Fig.6) and axial (Fig.7) sections confirm suitability of the 5x11 mm implant for the site.  Prepare surgical handpiece for sectioning the tooth for extraction.  After drills, use Magic Expanders for sinus lift.  Place Vanilla Graft prior to dummy implant(s).  A bone-level implant crown may be easier to be repaired if the proximal contact is not ideal.
