Fig.8: Immediately post placement of a 5x17 mm implant at the site of #20.  The apex of the original socket of #20 extends from the upper 3rd thread to the lower 3rd thread.

Fig.9: Five months postop.  The apex of the original socket not only decreases mesiodistally, but also vertically (from the upper 5th thread to the lower 5th thread).

There is mild crestal bone resorption distal to the implant at the site of #20 five (Fig.9) and 12 (Fig.13) months postop.  It may be related to the change in the trajectory.

Dense lamina dura forms coronally 13 months post cementation (20 months postop, Fig.14 *).  The original apex of the socket has apparently disappeared.
