Mesial Slope Entry Point

A 53-year-old woman has 2 lower failed FPDs with the right one dislodged (Fig.1,2).  The pontic (#30) is as narrow as a premolar; prepare a 3.5 or 4.0 mm 2-piece implant (Fig.3).  To gain more native bone for primary stability at #31, use Point Lindamann drill to initiate osteotomy in the middle of the mesial slope obliquely (Fig.4) and change trajectory (Fig.5).  Sequential osteotomy may distalize the final position of the osteotomy to the planned one (as compared to Fig.3) because of the slope.  The patient has been instructed to use water pik to reduce the erythema at the pontic before surgery.  Take photos to demonstrate the point.  Surgical stent is finished.
