Emergency Conversion of FPD

A 68-year-old female has had a long spanned FPD (fixed partial denture, bridge) for the last 2 years.  It is loose (Fig.1,2).  The patient is concerned about cosmetics, but has limited finance.  The FPD dislodges when Alginate impression is being taken.  The teeth #11 and 15 will be extracted and replaced immediately by implants (Fig.3,4).  After placement of abutments, a 5-unit immediate provisional FPD will be fabricated if the implants achieve primary stability.  Otherwise, an additional implant will be placed at the site of #13.  There will be no occlusal contact.

The sockets will be treated with Metronidazole.

Return to Upper Canine, Molar Immediate Implant 1-Piece #11 and 15.
