Where Should an Implant be Placed?

Since the distal root (D) of the 1st molar is close to the mesial root of the 2nd molar (Fig.1), the immediate implant should be placed in the septum or the mesial socket of the 1st molar.

Try to remove the crown with forceps and section the tooth (Fig.2 black line) for easy tooth removal (Fig.3: using proximators). 

Section the septum mesiodistally with thin osteotomes so that drills and/or rounded osteotomes (Fig.4 red long arrow) will stay in the middle or mesial portion of the septum, while a part of the septum is being pushed distally (open arrow).  When larger drills or osteotomes (Fig.5 thicker red long arrow) are being used, more of the septum is being pushed distally (open arrow).  A 7x17 mm implant is expected to be placed in the middle of the septum or slightly into the mesial socket (Fig.6).  Where does this implant end up?
