Palatal Shield for Longer Implant

A 55-year-old man agrees to have the tooth #14 to be extracted for immediate implant.  It appears that the palatal bone is lower than the buccal bone (Fig.1 arrowheads).  If palatal shield is conducted (Fig.3 *), the implant can be longer (5x10 vs. 8.5 mm, Fig.2-4).
